ELIXIR-IT All Hands Meeting 2026

The ELIXIR-IT All Hands Meeting 2026 took place on 9–10 February at Villa Romanazzi Carducci in Bari, gathering over 130 participants from the ELIXIR-IT community, national research infrastructures, research institutions, and policy bodies. The two-day programme featured more than 30 speakers across institutional, scientific, and strategic sessions, and it included a poster session and dedicated networking moments, fostering direct exchange and new collaborations within the community.

A central focus of the meeting was the impact of the ELIXIRxNextGenIT project, which has significantly strengthened national capacities in omics technologies, computing and storage infrastructure, interoperability, and training. Sessions highlighted scientific success stories and community-driven resources, while institutional contributions framed ELIXIR-IT within national research and innovation strategies. BBMRI.it, Euro-BioImaging and ICSC Foundation participated in the event in the context of existing formal collaboration agreements with ELIXIR-IT.

Looking ahead, discussions addressed emerging priorities including genomic and health secure data sharing, artificial intelligence applications, and alignment with European initiatives such as the European Health Data Space. The meeting confirmed ELIXIR-IT’s maturity and strategic role as a coordinating hub for life sciences in Italy.

As Francesca De Leo, coordinator of the ELIXIRxNextGenIT project and ELIXIR-ITDeputy Head of Node, remarked: “The AHM-IT 2026 reflected the progress achieved over recent years and confirmed that ELIXIR-IT is now well positioned to address the next emerging challenges, building on a clear and firmly established strategic path.
