Partnerships & Agreements

ICSC

ICSC is Italy’s National Research Center for High-Performance Computing, Big Data and Quantum Computing, established under the PNRR to develop advanced national capabilities in large-scale data processing, simulation and next-generation computing across strategic sectors.

ICSC and ELIXIR-IT have signed a long-term strategic collaboration to strengthen biomedical research in Italy by integrating HPC, big data and bioinformatics resources. The partnership supports the joint development of national infrastructures such as FEGA (Federated European Genome-Phenome Archive) and GDI (Genome Data Infrastructure), promotes coordinated participation in national and European projects, and advances shared standards and training to accelerate progress in precision medicine and life science research.

Eusoft

Eusoft is an Italian company specialised in the development of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and digital solutions for research environments.

In collaboration with ELIXIR Italy, Eusoft co-developed an advanced LIMS specifically designed to manage the entire omics workflow—from sample reception and tracking, to high-throughput sequencing, through to bioinformatics analysis and long-term secure data storage.

This joint effort resulted in an integrated digital environment capable of supporting complex, multi-step laboratory operations while ensuring data integrity, traceability, and full interoperability with ELIXIR-IT platforms.

For Eusoft, working with ELIXIR Italy offered strategic insight into the needs of the scientific community, enabling the development of cutting-edge solutions tailored to advanced omics laboratories. This partnership demonstrates how a strong research–industry exchange can significantly improve digital infrastructures and raise the overall standard of research data management.

Scientifica Venture Capital

Scientifica is an investment holding focused on transforming scientific research into industrial value by supporting deep-tech start-ups.
Through its network of 70+ advanced facilities, it supports applied research and innovation development across the growth trajectory of technology-driven companies.

ELIXIR Italy and Scientifica signed an agreement to accelerate technology transfer in omics and big data analysis. The partnership combines scientific expertise with business development, enabling start-ups to leverage cutting-edge research tools and translate discoveries into market-ready solutions, strengthening Italy’s open innovation ecosystem in the biomedical sector.

Confindustria Bari-BAT

Confindustria Bari-BAT is an interprovincial industrial association representing companies based in the Metropolitan City of Bari and in the Province of Barletta–Andria–Trani. The organisation fosters innovation, research, and strategic development for its member industries.

Through a long-term agreement with ELIXIR Italy, Confindustria promotes collaborative projects in bioinformatics, data science, and life sciences. Joint actions include training activities, scientific consulting, co-participation in national and EU funding calls, and dissemination initiatives, strengthening connections between research infrastructures and industrial ecosystems.

Researchalize

AstraZeneca is a global biopharmaceutical company committed to advancing science to deliver life-changing medicines. It launched Researchalize, a digital platform co-developed with Eversana Intouch, to connect researchers, public institutions, and private actors across Italy.

ELIXIR Italy actively collaborates within the platform through knowledge exchange and joint initiatives. This partnership strengthens links between research and industry, promoting dialogue and scientific co-development through shared content.
