About the Community
The ELIXIR Toxicology Community is dedicated to developing eXplainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) based technological platforms that advance toxicology and drug discovery. These platforms enable the early assessment of human health and environmental endpoints while also supporting the automated design of selective bioactive compounds, fostering safer and more efficient innovation in life sciences. Through integrating computational models, QSAR, systems biology approaches, and large-scale data resources, this community aims to improve the assessment of chemical and biological risks as well as their molecular rationale. This work contributes to safeguarding human health and protecting the environment, while also reducing reliance on traditional animal testing.

- PLATO (Polypharmacology pLATform predictiOn) Predictive drug discovery web platform for efficient target fishing and bioactivity profiling of small molecules.
- CUPID (Cardiotox Understanding Platform for Intelligent Drug Discovery). Easy-to-use toxicology platform, designed for predicting cardiotoxicity endpoint based on the three ion channels: ERG, NAv1.5 and CAv1.2.
- TIRESIA (Toxicology Intelligence and Regulatory Evaluations for Scientific and Industry Applications). Easy-to-use toxicology platform, designed for predicting Developmental Toxicity, an endpoint of utmost importance for the protection of human health.
- TISBE (TIRESIA Improved by Structure-Based Explainability). Easy-to-use toxicology platform, designed for predicting developmental toxicity, an endpoint of utmost importance for the protection of human health.
- CIRCE (Cannabinoids Iterative Revaluation for Classification and Explainability). Easy-to-use digital platform based on explainable machine learning approach, aimed to find new potential selective ligands against the cannabinoid receptors.
